On November 7, 2008, Bagwell Construction Services, Inc. broke ground on an exciting project for the Thousand Oaks community. Lupe’s Mexican Restaurant, which opened over 60 years ago in 1947, will undergo a major remodel and addition. The team of professionals working on this project includes Bagwell Construction Services, Inc., Heathcote & Associates and Lifestyles Interior Design. Bagwell Construction will manage all aspects of construction on the project. Heathcote & Associates designed the architecture for the new restaurant. Elements of the remodel and addition include a spacious outdoor dining area with a retractable ceiling, an expanded kitchen and new interior finishes, such as tile, lighting and seating areas. Lifestyles will be coordinating all aspects of interior design for the project. Lupe Zuniga who owns the restaurant with her two sisters, Lala Cristerna and Barbara Zuniga, is excited about heading up this unique renovation. Lupe has had the pleasure of watching the City of Thousand Oaks grow up around the restaurant that her mother Martha opened many years ago. This ground breaking ceremony represents the renewal of a family legacy that shall continue to live on in the Thousand Oaks community.
