Getting Started: BCS Roadmap

This document has been created to help you through the remodeling process. You probably have some ideas and dreams and a budget. Now, will it all fit together? Despite what some other contractors might tell you, you cannot get a realistic, detailed quote without a design and all of the fixtures and materials selected. Here is how we will help you. The typical design, quote and construction process for a large project involving several trades is described below:

1. You have a dream.
2. You call Bagwell Construction for a free estimate.
3. We meet with you at your home and discuss your building needs and wishes at no cost.
4. We look at the general concept and a few of the big ticket factors.
5. We present a contract with a rough budget to you.
   1. In the contract, we will reflect back to you the work you want performed.
   2. The budget will help you determine if the scope of the project is realistic. At this point, the scope can be modified to fit your budget. This budget is NOT Bagwell Construction Services' bid on the job, but is provided as a service to the homeowner to see if the job is within the family budget.
   3. The contract will enable us to start working with a designer on the details of the project.
6. With the contract and down payment in place, we will create detailed drawings of the project and work with you to choose materials and fixtures.
7. The detailed drawings will enable us to create the detailed quote for the remainder of the project.
8. With approval of the design and a detailed quote of the work, we will move forward with permits, placing orders for long lead items, and scheduling the trades. If the detailed design reveals a larger budget requirement than what was planned, you have the option to terminate the contract.
9. Progress payments will be made based on the percentage of work complete at the time of invoice.
10. Construction is completed and final payment is made.
11. You live in your new dream home.
12. You recommend Bagwell Construction Services to family, neighbors, and friends.
